Flanders Field Show Jumping Vlamertinge 2014

The first edition of CSI Vlamertinge was an instant hit. Many people showed up, with an international list of honors to be proud of. The Grand Prix (€ 25,000) was won by the Colombian natural Dayro Arroyave, with the Belgian approved stallion Eldorado vh Vijverhof. Second place was reserved for the Australian top rider Amy Graham. The top of the Grand Prix couldn’t be more international! Both youngsters have been reported this year to participate in the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, which greatly reflects their quality and the appreciation they get.

2014 is also the starting year for the commemoration of 100 years of World War I. A black chapter in history of Belgium, in particular for the ‘Westhoek’. For many years the surroundings of Ypres, especially The Flanders Fields, Flanders’ killing fields, have been the scene of pure horror.”Where the Poppies blow, between the crosses, row on row.” (John McCrae)

2014-2018, four years of commemorating in the region. In the shadow of the towers of Ypres, an international top event like CSI Vlamertinge had to refer to this commemoration. That is why we chose to change the name to “Flanders Fields Show Jumping”.

All riders, guests, sponsors, and visitors are welcome during this four-day event. The De Grande family and the entire team will put everything in place to make your visit as pleasant as possible! A special thanks to our sponsors for their support and the city of Ypres and the municipality Vlamertinge / Brandhoek for the great cooperation.
